Slowly but surely I’ve been testing putting together a membership area. Where visitors will be able to signup, create a small profiles and post to each other on an activity wall. There have been soo many great comments and emails from people who also have M.A.S.C. I really want to put something together where people will be able to more easily connect with others with this same cancer.
I’m like almost finished with it, and its just a matter of making the login/logout part work with this site navigation. Everyone who has left a comment or an email will be on my list. I’ll send you an invite to join when its available on the site. It looks like I need to make a new section like Post Treatment to sort of get these general updates in a better spot on the website.
I would like to be added. I had MASC 2 years ago. I had the tumor removed and took radiation. I read you blogs before and during the process. It really helped me know what to expect. I keep checking back every so often to see if there are any changes after check ups. Like you said, always wondering is it coming back. So I wanted to thank you for doing this blog for us that didn’t know what to expect.
Diagnosed with MASC in Sept. of 2016. Cancer was in the superficial lobe. Underwent complete removal of parotid gland. Very little literature available on MASC as discovery of this type of cancer was just identified in 2015. Met with the radiation oncologist. I was the first case he had seen with this type of cancer. He suggested against radiation at this time and rather watch/wait (serial CT scans). My 3 month CT was negative. Scheduled for my 6 month CT n next week. Would be great to communicate with other’s whom are faced with this rare form of cancer.
Correction to my comments: M.A.S.C, I believe was first recognized in 2010.
My daughter was Dx with MASC in her parotid gland. Most of the gland and tumor was removed a few weeks ago. They then discovered a large nodule in her thyroid that was biopsied yesterday. Waiting to hear on that. She is going in for her first appointment with radiology on Monday. I just read through your entire blog and I am now really worried about what she is going to be going through. She already has other health issues that limit her a lot and I am worried how she will manage this. We live 2 hours from the hospital where she gets her treatments.
Hi Pam, how is your daughter doing? Feeling for both of you, Lee
