Drainage Tube

Drain Tube

Drain Tube after surgery

After surgery a long tube was inserted to remove fluid buildup in the area where the surgery took place. Travis was to keep track of the amount of fluid collecting into the bulb at the end of the tube. Within the first 24hrs after surgery, Travis had to check and measure the fluid in the buld every 6 hrs. Days following there would be less and less drainage.

I remember Travis not sleeping at this point. I mean, really, what was the point if you were uncomfortable and had to be woken up every 6 hrs. I also remember recieving a text message from Carrie Hill the next morning that the amount that was draining seemed right, but Travis’s face was swelling tremendously. Both Carrie and Travis were very worried, but it turned out that it was normal swelling after surgery and he just needed to rest.
