Well, today started the first day of Travis’ second week. Surprisingly, today’s treatment went real smooth. Dad got to join Travis and mom today at the Cancer Center. This was Dad’s first time going since he was out of town last week. Since today was Monday, they got to meet with the doctors after the treatment took place. The doctor explained that Travis is right on track where he should be and his skin was looking great. The doctor did provide Travis with a prescription for vicodin if the pain was unbearable and some type of mouth rinse that had lidocain in it.
Travis told me after treatment that he believes it helped to have Saturday and Sunday off with no scheduled radiation. His skin was able to take a short break before he would take the next beating. The swelling has gone down and the burning of the tongue is eased with meds; however, tiredness continues. Bed time is sooner and sooner each night. Oh, and…Coffee has not even sounded good. The thought of hot coffee on your burning tongue has made it easy to eliminate.
